I am lucky enough to be able to work with Coach Matt in person. I wanted to get better at some of the major lifts in CrossFit. I approached Matt based on his expertise and decided to sign up to work with him. After just a few sessions with Matt I could feel my confidence and skill ability significantly improve with powerlifting. Matt has the great ability of knowing someone’s limitations and easily adapting the movements for them but also knowing when someone is capable of doing more than they believe they can do. His confidence in my lifts has helped me to be able to lift more weight than I thought possible. Whether in a group class or private training session Matt is great at personalizing the movements and weight to each specific person! I’ve been told I have one of the best Cleans (lift) in the gym and I have Matt to thank for that!

Working with my coach at Innov8 Fitness has genuinely changed my life! It has been a great, tough, thoughtful, educational, and just an overall fantastic experience! Innov8 Fitness is Excellent. Last year I had a severe ankle injury which left me on crutches and very limited in what I could do for a time. I was regularly active previously with riding my bike about 20 miles a day and working out regularly. Because of this injury I had put on over 30lbs. I tried a couple of other nutrition challenges that were short term focused, and the results didn’t last long. I looked at Innov8 Fitness for some time, but in honesty was put off by the 3-month starting commitment. I would say what resonates with me is the education and accountability I learned from my coach at Innov8 Fitness. The coach has always been willing to explain thinking behind his strategy or teach me basics so I’m not blindly following anything. In the beginning I was struggling to hit my calorie goals, never mind my macros. My coach got me on track by both explaining why we were trying to hit set numbers and making the path there less intimidating “let’s try and hit this 3 days a week” this approach has kept me engaged and built my trust. I was able to lose 35lbs. over the last 7 months. I was skeptical at first, but results speak for themselves and has definitely been worthwhile!

Coach Matt started working with me around 6th grade. He developed and taught me protocols on how to train, recover, and eat for my goals. I was a multi-sport athlete, but my main focus was football. Over the years I really learned what was best for me, not what everyone else was doing. I got bigger, faster, and stronger all while staying healthy. We worked on recovery, learned about deloads, and the difference between in-season training and off-season training. While others around me were doing OK I was thriving. Coach Matt taught me that what might work for someone else is not necessarily what will be best for me. Under his guidance I was able to get a scholarship to play football. The initial investment my family laid out for me paid off and then some. I know am successful in the business world, have a beautiful wife, and a newborn son. I was an inspiring athlete in high school. I played lacrosse, field hockey, and worked out only a little. I was given the opportunity to train with Coach Matt for 3 years. He taught me how I needed to eat enough to support my body, regular hormone function, and what was needed for performance. Over the 3 years, we worked on what he called prehab movements to keep me healthy, got strong, and built confidence that stayed with me to this day. All my hard work paid off. I was able to get a full scholarship to a college in upstate NY for Lacrosse. By working with Coach Matt and taking the time to learn how to take care of myself with proper nutrition, training, and mindset has allowed me to continue thriving into my adulthood. My goal when I joined was to feel in control of my eating. I felt so out of control. I had no idea what I wanted my goal weight to be, but I knew I wasn't having success on my own. I didn’t know if I need to lose 30lbs or 50lbs. Before working with Innvo8 Fitness, I used to think "I can't lose weight. There is something wrong with my body I must have a slow metabolism. Why do I try so hard and see such little results?" I've realized now is that I was not consistent enough. There was nothing wrong with me, I just felt like if I work hard (and I did try really hard!), I deserve to take a break. But the break always went on and on. I had to learn to make a total lifestyle change and my perception on how I view food. I have worked really hard on breaking myself of my all-or-nothing thinking. With my coaches support I learned it doesn’t have to be an all or nothing approach. My coach has helped me set boundaries and goals so I still feel successful even if I feel like I need a break (did you know a break doesn’t have to be for long periods of time, can be a simple refeed which I learned during this process). It feels really good to know that I don't have to be perfect to be successful! Back in November I took a chance on Innov8 Fitness. I have lost 35lbs so far. I have been in maintenance, slowly increasing my macros. I have continued to lose body fat over that time, although not as drastically as before. Investing in myself and not looking at it as an expense was one of the best things that I could have done. I have Innov8 Fitness to thank for that.

I am 44 years old; I have worked with Coach Matt for 7 years now. This isn’t because I didn’t get results but because I did. I learned so much about nutrition, training, and lifestyle and working with Coach Matt held me accountable and kept me in shape to do the things I love. I play in competitive tennis leagues, run 5k’s, Obstacle course racing, etc. Making this commitment to myself was the best investment I have ever made! I had a basic understanding of nutrition and macros. My biggest issue was lack of accountability. I had a goal of losing some weight and body fat for an upcoming trip. I decided to sign up for coaching with Innov8 Fitness since I had a friend who had much success with them. Initially I planned on doing 3 months to achieve my goals for the trip. I had to learn to log everything and be very consistent. We started with a 3-month cut, slowly decreasing my macros. I was able to still eat and drink the things I love, sometimes in moderation. Having my coach there to keep me accountable help to keep me on track when I would start to veer off too much. During this process I learned about the seasons of nutrition. I thought that once I reduced my calories and macros, I had to stay there to maintain that weight. My coach taught me about how we needed to get to a new maintenance level to sustain the change I had made. I decided to sign up for an additional 3 months where we worked on getting to my maintenance calories while slowly increasing my macros overtime. I have been able to maintain my weight within 2 lbs, look better than ever, and learned that weight loss can be sustainable. This allowed for an entire lifestyle change and I can thank Innov8 Fitness for holding me accountable along the way!

I was lucky enough to work with Coach Matt from Innov8 Fitness from 6th grade all the way through college. I was an athletic kid and luckily for me my family recognized that potential. They decided to hire Matt to train and teach me to see where it could lead. Year after year I kept improving at sports and got stronger and faster. I was a multi-sport athlete in high school which I learned for my overall development kept me injury free. Coach Matt worked with me and taught me the differences of how to train during season to maintain my size, speed, and strength, how we needed to approach the off-season in a different matter. Nutrition was key to this as well. I did have to eat differently during different times of the year. I am blessed to say that the outcome was that I received a scholarship to Penn State to play football and even got to try out for the Raiders. I get to look back on my time with Coach Matt and Innov8 Fitness and appreciate how he helped to form the path that laid ahead of me and brought me to where I am today. I always exercised my entire life, I played tennis, ran 5k’s, lifted weights and did yoga – I just never saw the physical results I expected. My eating habits weren’t the best, so I knew the reason was food related. My problem was I ate too little, too much, and made bad choices. I never really learned how I should eat, how much, how often, and what were the best food choices for me. I yo-yo dieted, stressed ate and binged often. With battling for years of self-sabotage I knew it was time for a change. I knew I needed to improve my relationship with food, so I turned to Innov8 Fitness. Being that I am 41 I felt I knew everything I needed to know. I expected to fly right through the process from A-Z of nutrition but boy was I wrong. I was committed but I had to learn to trust my coach, listen, and learn. Trusting the process, I learned that I was able to still eat most of the things I wanted, work out how I wanted, and ended up making physical changes that I always wanted. Six months later, I have no guilt (understand what I am eating and why), no more denying myself foods, no punishment, and no more self-sabotage. For the first time in my life, I actually like myself (did I mention I lost 15lbs.), which is the best feeling in the world. I just wished I would have started investing in myself sooner!

I started training with John 8 weeks post-partum. After I had my second daughter in 2 years via c-section, I was feeling frustrated with myself and my workouts. John was more than amazing at easing back into the gym, while also challenging me. He has been able to not only meet my goals but surpass them and meet goals I didn’t think were possible. He is very knowledgeable with every aspect of working out, nutrition, and different body types and gets his clients to crush their goals one weight at a time. I started going to RXFit in July of 2019, and it’s been a life-changing experience. That is where I met Coach John. I had never thought of using a personal trainer before. I was always just used to going in and doing my own thing. John has been such an incredible coach to learn and grow from. I’ve been active my whole life playing sports and working out. I was so used to just going to the gym and doing traditional old-school bro lifting. I got stronger but always plateaued and didn’t make the progress I expected. I know Coach Matt from Innov8 Fitness and asked if he could work with me to design a proper plan and progression for me to follow. After our initial consult, he put together one of the best training programs I have ever done. Before working with Innov8 Fitness, I didn’t make food or my time a priority. I would just go through my workday, sometimes not even eating lunch. The problem I was having was that I was fatigued and struggled with brain fog. I came from the thinking that all you do is grind until you die. I started looking into how to live a healthier life. A friend of mine recommended Innov8 Fitness to me. I ended up working with my coach for 9 months. I have to say they helped to change my life. They taught me how to prioritize myself and make better food choices. One of the things my coach helped me to implement was time blocking. I started setting a block of time each day to fit in lunch on the job. Between following my time blocking I learned and eating enough food daily, I was able to lose the brain fog and had more energy for when I got home. Having the opportunity to work with Coach McGuinness(John) one on one has been a great experience. We talked about goals and put together a program that has been nothing short of amazing. Like many older athletes, issues with mobility, flexibility, and past injuries always seem to be prevalent. That didn't stop coach John. With some adjustments and by strengthening certain muscle groups I overcame many of my past problems. His ability to break down movements and simplify them made it much easier to understand and to this day I have exceeded many of my expectations. I've found a great coach but more importantly a new friend, thanks, coach.

My fitness plan needed a jump start as I was in a workout rut. I decided to sign up and work with Coach John. He listened to what I was looking to accomplish and quickly put a plan in motion. Workout sessions were never stagnant, implementing not only weights but body weight exercises and other apparatus. After working with Coach John, I learned that his enthusiasm and knowledge of the human body, functional fitness, and nutrition are second to none. I have worked with other people in the past and there was no comparison. Since working with Coach John for a little over a year (no I didn’t have to, but I wanted to) my whole-body composition has changed. I am so grateful for what he has done for me.
